Description

Example of the corrupted file:
https://blueapartinvest.pl/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/DSC_7487-scaled.jpg

By watching the original file updated, or all the downsized versions - they look fine. Only the scaled version is corrupt, and the 2048x1367 one.

Hi, @blauweb, welcome to Trac, and thank you for the report!

When attempting to access the image referenced in the ticket, a 404 response is returned. Would you mind attaching (or referencing on public URLs):

  • The original uploaded image.
  • The scaled version with gray lines.

These will help other contributors reproduce this issue. Thank you!

Hi, sorry, the image was removed while doing our own research.
Please go to:
https://blueapartinvest.pl/oferty/

And here you should see the corrupted pictures. If you don't, please look up the original size image in the sourceset for "rekowo górne" and "osiedle lawendowe".

At the same time we are working with the hosting provider to determine whether this has something to do with the php/server configuration.

Thanks for this information, @blauweb. I've attached an original and example corrupted image from your site to this ticket.

However, in local testing I was unable to reproduce this issue in 6.1.1 or against trunk 😔. The same original image scaled without a problem in my environment.

To help rule out environment configuration issues, on your site, would you mind heading to Tools > Site Health > Info tab > Media Handling and providing a summary of this info? E.g. here's the info from my dev site:

Active editor: WP_Image_Editor_Imagick
ImageMagick version number: 1808
ImageMagick version string: ImageMagick 7.1.0-52 Q16-HDRI aarch64 20549 https://imagemagick.org
Imagick version: 3.7.0
GD version: 2.3.3

Thank you @ironprogrammer!

I did some tests on some other servers, including my own local machine, and was not able to reproduce the issue either. Looks like this may be an environmental issue.
