1	1	I like @costdev's above plan for testing VirtualBox without #56057. This should mean that #56057 can be reverted with the understanding that after testing it would simply be a switch to `move_dir()` or we would need the PR presented here.

3		I still think it's appropriate to commit #53375 as `move_dir()` will be a great addition to Core and is needed regardless of which path we end up taking.
