Saving menus is slow

It seems the ages old issue, saving Appearance -> Menus is still taking about 40 seconds to process, even if you only have handful of items in the menu.

While it seems to be working ok, if one waits long enough - some servers may not tolerate several minutes of waiting.

As of 2023, saving a menu with 10 items should not take 40 seconds - it should be instant.

Hello @iarovuo, I couldn't replicate the mentioned issue with the blank WordPress installation and default Twenty Twenty-Two theme. Could you help us out with the steps to reproduce the issue along with the environment details? Like plugins, themes, and server details.

@iarovuo Also I couldn't replicate the mentioned issue I have checked that with Fress WordPress installation and also check-in the old WordPress site but it's working fine for me.

Thanks for the comments - I will conduct further tests on this with another fresh installation, and will report back with exact details and results.

Fresh hosting, fresh WP installation.
Only two plugins SG Security + SG Optimizer.
Divi Theme 4.20.4

Saving menu with two default pages takes about 4.5 sec.
Every additional page in menu ads another 2-3 sec. for saving time.

I am just wondering if you are you still affected by the aforementioned issue?

If so are you able to provide us with more details about your setup? The following ​Test Reports plugin can be used to generate a bug report which if you submit here we can use to give us a much clearer understanding of your installations environment. This should hopefully give us further insight into the problems you are facing, and then the community and myself can assist you much better here. 😃

However if this is no longer the case, and the issue has been resolved please feel free to close this ticket.
