Currently, the free WordPress theme repository supports Hijri calendar, You can see in the attached photo or in the link below (for example)

WordPress core relies on underlying PHP language for Date/Time support and calculations. So the supported calendar and features are directly equivalent. I do not think any other calendars are being considered for extra implementation in WordPress core itself (though they could be added with plugins).

I am not familiar with the nature of implementation in theme directory.

I would recommend to look for an existing plugin for such.

Unfortunately, there is no suitable plugin for this,

I wish you would add this feature natively in WordPress core.
