WooCommerce is blocking external download link

Description

Environment:
Normal WordPress including WooCommerce and Project Send ​https://www.projectsend.org/ as database for digital download. The content is packed as .zip files.

Symptoms:
WooCommerce is routing end-user to a “Invalid download link. Go to shop” page and is providing following warnings for the articles. [See Screenshot]

Actions:

  • Adding ​https://XXX.de/projectsend/ to Approved download directories
  • Enforcing Rules is disabled
  • File download method is set to “Redirect only”
  • Allow using redirect mode is enabled.

Note:
I was able to generate a working link, when digital item was uploaded to /wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/, but that is not what I want.

Hi @teevee98,

This appears to be limited to WooCommerce, and may require a change of settings. You can get help with this over on ​the WooCommerce support forums.

Please note that Trac is only for bugs/enhancements/features in the development of the core software of WordPress, rather than an issue with a plugin. I'll close this ticket as invalid as it does not pertain to the core software of WordPress.
