Bug Report
Description
When creating pattern with the Sync option selected, the pattern will not be available in the Pattern inserter.
Environment
- WordPress: 6.3-beta2
- PHP: 8.1.9
- Server: Apache/2.4.43 (Win32) mod_fcgid/2.3.9a
- Database: mysqli (Server: 8.0.16 / Client: mysqlnd 8.1.9)
- Browser: Chrome 114.0.0.0 (Windows 10/11)
- Theme: Twenty Twenty-Three 1.1
- MU-Plugins: None activated
- Plugins:
- WordPress Beta Tester 3.5.0
Steps to Reproduce
- Select Group and click option: Create pattern
- in the Create pattern modal, click on: Keep all pattern instances in sync. Give it a Name and then Save.
- Open a page or post (refresh), click + to open block inserter and click Patterns tab.
- Click Custom patterns.
- 🐞 Bug occurs. This pattern is not shown.
Expected Results
- ✅ What should happen is that the pattern should be available to insert, just like the patterns created without the sync feature turned on.
Actual Results
- ❌ What actually happened is that in Editor > Library > Custom patterns it is shown under Standard
Patterns that can be changed freely without affecting your site

Synced patterns would be able to be inserted by clicking on the Synced Patterns icon on the far right side of the tab.
However, I agree that it is a pattern with or without synchronization and therefore it should appear on the Patterns tab.
I have submitted the issue as I believe this is a Gutenberg project related issue: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/52224
