Updgrade Database Endless Loop

Running SVN version 6870.

Login link takes me to Upgrade Database page. Clicking the link tells me the upgrade was successful, allowing me to Continue. Clicking the link takes me back to the Upgrade Database page. Clearing browser cache and browser cookies does not resolve the problem. With a cleared cache, clicking Login takes me to the successful upgrade page allowing me to continue, which takes me back to my blog. Trying to get into wp-admin also takes me to the Continue page, which takes me back to my blog.

Storing browser cache:
Login -> Database Upgrade -> Continue -> Database Upgrade -> Continue -> Database upgrade, etc

Browser cache cleared:
Login -> Continue -> Login -> Continue -> Login, etc

Do you have any messages in your error log?

Perhaps an object cache backend that doesn't do a proper flush is being used.

Does closing the browser window make any difference?

I've noticed a couple of post-upgrade-logins get stuck until the browser (IE7) was closed and restarted.

Six months without feedback, and a subsequent upgrade which has worked for a large number of users suggests this is no longer an issue.
