Thanks for the detailed comment.
We already started seeing that the users want X icon instead of a bird on their site. May be a plugin might help in this case until we have in the core. (opportunity for plugin authors)

@masteradhoc I don't think we should close this ticket, since the issue should still be addressed on bundled themes.
Also invalid
would not be the good resolution, we use reported-upstream
for ticket that are addressed on an upstream repository.

It's understandable that considering waiting a few months before updating the icon, especially given the recent and somewhat rushed logo change.

In the Gutenberg project, the following issues have been submitted in relation to this ticket: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/53223
Thanks for the ticket,
I guess we could probably wait a few months before updating the icon since the change is very recent and as this logo change was made a bit in a rush. It's difficult to be sure of anything, if it's going to change back, change to another Y/Z logo or even if this will remain as the microblogging social network we use to know as Twitter 😅
Also, changes in social widget block and embed block should probably happen in Gutenberg, not in Core. Should be reported upstream on https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/.
however, some bundled themes have a Twitter logo for their social menu features, and this could be handled in this ticket. Thus I'm moving this ticket to the Bundled Themes component.
Ps: Removing version
6.3
tag as the issue was not introduced by WordPress 6.3 but by a spoiled brat.
