    initial v1
1 Posting an update here since I just ran another set of benchmarks with 6.4 Beta 2 and the latest version of TT4. I benchmarked against the regular WP build from the ZIP file on a local install powered by [ Local], to avoid any influence by the WP core dev environment. Summary:
1Posting an update here since I just ran another set of benchmarks with 6.4 Beta 2 and the latest version of TT4. I benchmarked against the regular WP build from the ZIP file on a local install powered by [https://localwp.com Local], to avoid any influence by the WP core dev environment. Summary:
    22* With Beta 2, TT4 loads in 166.02ms, compared to 179.82ms in Beta 1, i.e. **7.67% faster**.
33* For reference, TT3 in that setup loads in 99.89ms. While therefore TT4 appears to load 60% slower than TT3 and at a first glance that may still sound alarming, **this is really comparing apples with oranges**. TT4 provides a much richer feature set and layout, so a higher cost is expected.

57Let's continue exploring ways to further improve performance of more complex block themes (e.g. things like #59544), but all that is to say I think we are working in the right direction. An almost 8% win between Beta 1 and Beta 2 is massive!
