The sticky position does not work as expected. When the sticky position is applied to a block, it does not stick to the scrollable area of the parent header block.

  • Component changed from Build/Test Tools to Themes

Hi @ssebuwufumoses 👋 Welcome to Core Trac!

Can you please be more specific about this issue. What version of WordPress, which theme and what plugins do you have?

I am guessing about the component, but it definitely not Build/Test Tools.

I am not sure I understood the report correctly.
The sticky position only works within the parent. This is a limitation with CSS, and no workaround has been found.

See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/position#sticky

Feature requests and issues for blocks are managed in the Gutenberg GitHub repository.
You can follow the discussions about the sticky position in this issue: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/47043

Because of this, I am closing this ticket as "reported upstream".
