Image Alignment issues

Description

I created a new WordPress 6.4.3 site and tested using both 2023 and 2024 themes.

On a page I added image and on viewing in a PC browser it's nicely centred, and takes up the 'none' alignment on the screen, as does a paragraph of Lorem below it.

I added another image below the Lorem and a few more paragraphs, and selected 'Right' for the image alignment.

The text wrapped, but the image aligned with the right margin for the Header - 'Wide Width' - instead of that of the text.

I tried putting the second image and following paragraphs in a Stack with the desired 'None' alignment, and alignment no longer appeared in the Toolbar for the image.

What I want to achieve can be seen at:

Though I'm not wanting the sidebar at present.

To add, wrapping the image & paragraphs in a group doesn't help either. The Align property for the image still aligns to the outer margins not the inner ones the associated paragraphs align to.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Proper testing using the sample page shows adding the image followed by text and enclosing them all in a group works correctly in 2023, 2024, Spectra One and (after a fashion) Blocksy.
