Description

I have a site with 4 pages with different passwords to protect them. Every now and then the password just stops working and I need to edit the page, copy and paste the same password in and save it. Then it continues to work again for a while. I number of people visiting the site have reported the same issue.

I've seen some reports regarding issues with post passwords, but none like this. It seems this is a very specific case that is happening to your particular installation, probably because of some plugin conflicting or even a theme

Ideally, we need a clear step-by-step method to reproduce this consistently and ideally, in a brand new clean WordPress installation, like the one you can find in the WordPress Playground. Without this, trying to spot the trouble you have been experiencing, is like spotting a needle in a haystack.

I'm going to close this as worksforme because I've been using the post_password intensively (and also I've been testing it through several posts), without an incident.

But if you happen to find the step-by-step and you can reproduce it in the clean environment like I have commented, don't hesitate to write back, we will reopen, and I will be personally testing and trying to help solve this.
