Hello good day,
It's been a while since I noticed this bug. I did not check the 'Discouraged search engine' in the settings but I still can't see the index follow in the source code. I had to install YOAST SEO or any SEO plugin to make it work.
Is it possible to display it without SEO plugins at all?

I agree with the recommendation to close this. I am going to add wontfix for now. We can however as with any issue always reconsider should that come up. For now, let's close this and move it on.
