26	26	It is assumed that all WordPress sites are "active" and that the current way things are handled by prompting the logged in Admin to confirm this email address "works" to prompt site owners or administrators to change it. That's a great thing, but many people log in rarely and will never see that.

28		It can be hard as the person with the email "stuck" in this field to find a contact at the company to request removal. So this being related to a WordPress User solves that. If they remove your user, they have to pick someone else to be the new recipient.
