Description

Hi,

It's my first time creating a ticket here besides the support forum, please let me know if there's anything improper in this feed reporting. I've created this issue on the support forum as [The title field of Reusable Block became unchangeable without a block theme
](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-title-field-of-reusable-block-became-unchangeable-without-a-block-theme/), and a [reply](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-title-field-of-reusable-block-became-unchangeable-without-a-block-theme/#post-17746651) suggested this issue should be reported here.

As for the post title, I found the title field of Reusable Block became unchangeable without a block theme.

I understand it has been called Synced Pattern to be part of the patterns assembled in Appearance – Editor, via Site Editor Patterns – Documentation – WordPress.org. It’s good to see that, but I’m afraid that the development team has forgotten its compatibility since it relied on the normal block editor which looks like a kind of CPT.

There’s nowhere to see the title field appear and can be named except when Creating a New Pattern (Reusable block) or by switching to the code editing mode in the block editor. I know the SiteEditor and the whole new related developments are the trend officially, but please remind there are still plenty of users and designers who support Reusable Block by building the web design works with the block editor ecosystem on a non-block theme for the concerns of high customization.

Thanks,
Green

Hi @yanggh
Thank you for the report and welcome to WordPress Trac!

This issues has been solved, the fix will be available in WordPress version 6.6 with a planned release in July 2024.

Before that, you can install the Gutenberg plugin to access the renaming option:
When you have opened the pattern in the editor, open the settings panel.
Next to the current pattern name, you will find an Actions menu (the three dot menu).
This opens a dropdown with an option to rename the pattern.

Hi @poena , I've received the reply notifications through email and Slack, it's cool!
Thanks for the clarifications, I'll try the Gutenberg plugin to preview and be expecting the updates of the core version.
