Integrate an image upload option within the Quick Draft interface, allowing users to attach images to their drafts and Add Category Selections.

Hi and thanks for the report!

An EITCA article touts the Quick Draft card's "intentionally minimalist" interface, that its "simplicity is a key factor in its effectiveness." I would not recommend adding to it within Core (for everyone), but maybe it could have a new hook for extending the form.

For now, you could try

  • Distraction-free mode in the block editor (in the 3-dot Options menu) or
  • Installing the Classic Editor plugin, setting Classic as the default editor, and hiding or collapsing every metabox except Categories (and the Publish box). To hide Classic metaboxes, go to Screen Options and uncheck them.
