Differenciate the number of posts to be displayed on front page and search result

Description
It would be nice to be able to choose how many posts displayed on front page and in the search result.
A configuration of 10 posts on front page is really short in search result which shows only post titles.

Easy to change via a
query_posts()call in your search template or via a plugin. Can't have a UI option for everything.
