Description

We should change the display name of German (default) -> Deutsch (du) and Swiss default -> Deutsch (Schweiz, Sie) for language selection in WordPress. Our second language packs do use this additions (du/Sie) and some users don't know that the second one exists. It would improve user experience and will better inform users about the main difference.

Side effect: more beginners will translate to the right branch

Hi there,

The translation for those strings is not handled in core ​but on WordPress.org, so a ticket on meta.trac.wordpress.org would be more appropriate. That said, I think this warrants input from both the de_CH and the de_DE teams.

I suggest opening a new request at ​https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/ and tagging it with #de_CH and #de_DE so the teams are pinged.
