Multiple ticking of categories in posts since version 6.7.1

Description
When we create a new post and tick a category, other categories are randomly ticked.
Our procedure for possibly eliminating the problem::
All plugins / themes deactivated > Problem persists
Tested other (independent) websites which have other plugins and themes > Same problem
Downgrade to version 6.7 > Problem no longer occurs.
