#6282 closed defect (bug) (fixed)

Dashboard header profile link should be more obvious

Description

In 2.3.3, at top right of the Dashboard is a clearly visible, underlined link "My Profile". This is good - it's obviously a link, and it describes what it does.

In 2.5, this wording is gone. Access to your profile is by clicking your name. As the name is no underlined, and isn't significantly distinguished from the "Howdy", it's not at all obvious that it's a link at all, much less what it leads to. This is not good. Navigation should not be a guessing game.

+1 to the fix.

+5 to the general principle "Navigation should not be a guessing game".

The same "Mystery Meat Navigation" issue applies to editing comments - rather than a large friendly "Edit" link, the user has to click the commenter's name.

A logical (and consistent) fix for the "Comment" issue would be to add "Edit" to the comment actions on the right.

  • Status changed from new to assigned

The user_info links have been underlined to provide more contrast. Fixed in #6314. Edit links are being addressed separately.
