Description

Seems like the close button of block editor doesn't work on the widgets page.

This report validates whether the issue can be reproduced.

  • WordPress: 6.8-alpha-59274-src
  • PHP: 8.2.27
  • Server: nginx/1.27.3
  • Database: mysqli (Server: 8.4.3 / Client: mysqlnd 8.2.27)
  • Browser: Chrome 132.0.0.0
  • OS: Linux
  • Theme: Twenty Twenty 2.8
  • MU Plugins: None activated
  • Plugins:
    • Test Reports 1.2.0

Actual Results

  1. ✅ Error condition occurs (reproduced).

Hello @lihsaa

Thank you for reporting this issue. After further investigation, it appears that this issue is caused by the Gutenberg editor and has already been addressed in Gutenberg version 20.0.0. The fix was implemented in PR #65443.

The issue will be resolved in WordPress core once the latest version of Gutenberg is merged and updated in WordPress. In the meantime, updating Gutenberg to version 20.0.0 or later should resolve the problem.
