Feature Request: "Admin Notifications" for Enhanced Admin Notification Management

Hello WordPress Team,

I would like to propose the addition of a new feature called "Admin Notifications" to the WordPress core. This feature would allow site administrators to better manage and customize notifications within the WordPress dashboard.

Suggested Features:
Categorizing Notifications:
Add the ability to categorize notifications into groups like "Errors", "WordPress Updates", "Plugin Notifications", and "Custom Notifications".

Managing Notifications:
Allow administrators to disable or permanently hide specific notifications and provide an option to view a history of critical notifications for better tracking.

Email Alerts for Important Notifications:
Enable email notifications for critical alerts, such as security issues, failed updates, or WooCommerce sales declines.

Centralized Notification Dashboard:
Introduce a dedicated section in the dashboard for managing and viewing all notifications in an organized, filterable format.

Popup Notifications:
Display important notifications as pop-ups or as a small notification icon in the admin toolbar.

Benefits:
Improved productivity by reducing clutter and providing more control over important notifications.

Better tracking and response to critical issues with the email alerts and history view.

Enhanced security and control by ensuring site administrators don’t miss important alerts.

I believe this feature would greatly improve the user experience for site administrators and enhance the overall efficiency of the WordPress dashboard.

There has been a project for years in the making to improve the notifications in WordPress. Have a look at ​https://github.com/WordPress/wp-feature-notifications for instance. I'd encourage you to contribute if possible.
