A backlink placed inside a standard post is not rendering correctly on the front end. The HTML appears in the editor but is either stripped or displayed as plain text when viewed on the site

Thank you for opening a ticket. Please share more details about how you can reproduce this bug. Please in test in the latest stable version of WordPress which is currently 6.8 but will be 6.9 in a couple weeks. Also, I removed the URL from the description because it felt like it could be irrelevant.

This ticket cannot move forward without steps to follow. What was the link markup in the editor, and how was it different on the front?

The environment details in the description are conflicting, too, because Twenty Twenty-Five requires at least WordPress 6.7.
