Description

Since the 6.9 update, I’ve not received any emails whenever someone has left a comment. This was working perfectly before the update. 'Email me whenever Anyone posts a comment' is still checked in Settings, discussion.

Hi @dianewordsworth, welcome to WordPress Core Trac!

Some issues with email are already being tracked in #64368. Could you share any additional details to confirm this?

  • Are you seeing any related error messages in your debug log?
  • If you're comfortable and able to check your PHP configuration, can you share what the values for sendmail_from and sendmail_path are set to?

Marking with the close keyword, which reflects that I believe this to be a duplicate.

Hi @jorbin

Thank you for the welcome, and thanks for taking the time to respond.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know where my debug log is but I’m not seeing any messages anywhere else. I’m just not getting emails to say someone has left a comment.

I tested it to see if WordPress could still send emails by logging off and then choosing ‘lost password’, and I still got an email with the new password instructions. I still get an email to say I’ve posted a new post. I’m also still getting emails from other WordPress org sites.

But no messages

I checked my settings under discussion, and send an email whenever someone leaves a comment is still checked.

These emails stopped arriving right after Dreamhost notified me that my WordPress site had been upgraded to 6.9 and I didn’t have to do anything else. It was the support forum that redirected me here.

I waited for a few plugin updates to come through before reporting an issue, just in case it was one of the plugins not working with the new site.

I don’t know where my PHP configuration is either, but I can certainly go and have a look for that and any debug log. I just wanted to nip on with a reply to you as it had been several hours since you sent yours.
