#65059 new defect (bug)

Modal overlapping the content editor

Reported by: brianhogg's profile brianhogg Owned by:
Milestone: Awaiting Review Priority: normal
Severity: normal Version: trunk
Component: General Keywords: reporter-feedback

Description

An accessible modal appearing as part of a meta box (ie. the "Add New Plan" button in LifterLMS) now causes the meta box area to fully expand if it has not been resized previously, hiding the content editor area completely.

It can also overlap with the resize bar, requiring an expansion to allow for the action underneath it to be clicked.

Hi @brianhogg

I installed the plugin and I am not sure if this is a bug?
You meantioned "now" but it is unclear if this is a recent change in an update of WordPress, and what the expectation, the "correct behavior" actually is?

Have you sent a support request to LifterLMS?

Hi @poena,

In previous versions when the meta boxes were not isolated in an initially hidden and resizable container, modals appear as an overlay across the whole editor. This "scrolling up" effect will likely now happen with any modal that is triggered from within a meta box.
