Description

Bug Report

Description

On small-screen devices (<782px), the submenu arrows aren't vertically center-aligned with the text next to them.

Environment

  • WordPress: 7.2-alpha-63166-src
  • Subdirectory: Yes
  • PHP: 8.3.33
  • Server: nginx/1.31.4
  • Database: mysqli (Server: 9.7.2 / Client: mysqlnd 8.3.33)
  • Browser: Chrome 151.0.0.0 (Mobile)
  • OS: Android
  • Theme: Twenty Twenty-Five 1.5
  • MU Plugins: None activated
  • Plugins:
    • BuddyPress 14.5.2
    • Test Reports 1.3.1

Steps to Reproduce

  1. You could use a plugin that adds an admin bar item that has a submenu (child item & grandchild item) or use a multisite(that is what I am using).
  2. On the dashboard, hover over the My Sites menu item.
  3. Do the same thing for the admin profile picture on the right side; hover over it (ensure you have BuddyPress for this).
  4. Observe the position of the submenu arrows relative to the text next to them.
  5. ๐Ÿž Bug occurs.

Expected Results

  1. โœ… The arrows should be vertically center-aligned relative to the text next to them.

Actual Results

  1. โŒ The arrows are vertically positioned slightly above the text next to them.

Additional Notes

  • For the My Sites arrows, as far as I can tell, they have always been like that.
  • But for the mispositioning of the arrows in the admin profile picture secondary menu, this is the result of a regression in 44793. This happened when the wp-admin-bar-arrow class was added.

Thanks for the PR!
Looks almost good to me (see @sabernhardt 's comment above)โ€ฆ but don't you think the arrow is still a bit vertically misaligned?

Thank you, @sabernhardt & @audrasjb, for the reviews.
Fixing the specificity.
Lemmi, have another look at the alignment.

@audrasjb, yes, it might be slightly misaligned by 1px.

I used the horizontal stroke of the letter "A" to center the arrow. I have made an update; take a look and let me know what you think.
