#66209 assigned defect (bug)

Network adminbar menu not fully usable on mobile

Reported by: joedolson Owned by: joedolson
Priority: normal Milestone: Awaiting Review
Component: Toolbar Version:
Severity: normal Keywords:
Cc: Focuses: accessibility, javascript, administration

Description

On mobile, attempting to open the Network Admin submenu collapses the open menu.

This report is based on my assumption of what's happening, since I'm on mobile at the moment and can't verify

The event trigger that auto closes the collapsed admin menu when it loses focus also fires when the network admin menu gains focus, as that menu is not in the group of elements targeted as being inside the menu.

Needs more verification to confirm cause.

Thanks for the report, @joedolson! I attempted to reproduce this, but the Network Admin submenu stays open for me without collapsing. I've attached a quick screen recording of my attempt.

My testing environment:

  • OS: iOS 18.6.2
  • Browser: Safari

Since your screenshot mentions Chrome, could this behavior be specific to Android/Chrome? Let me know if there are specific steps I'm missing and I'll gladly test again!

As far as I can see, you've reproduced the scenario @sainathpoojary - for me, the menu flashes open, then auto closes as soon as I select 'Network Admin', preventing access to any of the submenu items. It could be browser/OS specific; I'll explore it.
