404 blank.html errors after change of permalinks

Description

Since I changed from ugly to pretty permalinks (custom /%postname%/) I get about 500 error notifications a day.

.../blank.html pages are created and not found.

Can you be more specific? Like what the full error message is?

blank.html has nothing to do with WordPress as far as I know...

Your server probably does not support pretty permalinks. Check that:

  • Your server supports .htaccess files
  • The mod_rewrite module is enabled
