Hard to visually distinguish inline <code /> from surrounding text

It can be tricky to visually distinguish inline <code></code> elements from their surrounding text.

For instance:

Is the period at the end of /themes/default part of the path, or part of the sentence? It's hard to quickly tell "okay, this is code, this isn't."
