#7629 closed defect (bug) (invalid)

wordpress doesn't show text containing html meta tags

If you enter the text 'meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"' (with angular brackets) in a post, it won't be shown: apparently is sent to the browser as is, and the browser interprets it as a html meta tag, so that the text doesn't appear in the post

Let me see whether tracker can treat this text:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252>

Yes, tracker knows how to process a meta tag I put in a ticket.

Note that the problem with wordpress is both in posts and comments. I suppose there can be other sites in the software where the problem arises.

If you use the visual editor, the text will be escaped and shown. If use the HTML editor they will not be escaped and will be interpreted as tags.

  • Milestone 2.7 deleted
  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Works fine here. When using the HTML editor you will have to escape this by hand.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
