Description
ENV: trunk r8779
At first, I was looking at updating the mediocre "with line breaks" Update Services Setting text, but I got to thinking that very few people add Ping Services any more.
This setting probably dates back to before Ping-o-matic, or at least the early, unreliable days of it.

What's the harm in leaving it? I use it to ping an Oregon blogs directory for example.

Viper, less is more. What's the harm in for the small minority that use it to install a plugin to do so?
DD32, that's very interesting. Removing this option would likely encourage participation in the community that prepares a localized version of WordPress to add that to locale-specific ping services to their packages.

Fair enough.
What about bundling the plugin with WordPress though? I can just see the "lack" of this feature being a point detractors make about WordPress.
Heck, I wouldn't mind converting more features to bundled plugins (TinyMCE for example, heh).

That's a solid, interesting idea. With the integrated plugin installer, I wonder if there isn't an elegant way to not bundle, but to have a short list of recommended plugins. Usage would be the measure for what are recommend blogs.
I think some non-english users add locale-specific ping services, moving to a plugin for those who need it wouldnt be too bad IMO
