More and next page tags produce unwanted results

Description
When inserting <!--nextpage--> or <!--more--> into a post
1) the next comments section gets aligned in the middle
2) the rest of the page has smaller font than the beginning.
I have tried several times to insert these tags at different points in my blog, and they produce the same effect. As I have no test blog, and don't want to ruin the aspect of my current blog, I cannot show you.
