#8056 closed defect (bug) (wontfix)

Clicking Edit on a Widget with a Long Name messes up style

Description

A widget with a long name has the issue that it increases its width to the Name size + padding + the "Cancel" button. Cancel jumps back up to the same text-line as the Name, instead of sitting under it like the "Edit" button did.

I see nothing wrong with your screenshot. Besides it being very hard to keep "Cancel" on it's own line (unless I'm missing something), it'd also look silly with all that blank space to the right of the title and not making use of it.

I recommend closing as wontfix.

Meh, besides it overlapping center content, and not being uniform. If "Cancel" was on its own line (as "Edit" is on the left side), there wouldn't be any extra blank space to the right. Wrapping the text in the title box would keep it all straight ... at least there aren't any icons in the way to make it more difficult, like on the other bug report about the left-side nav.

Agree with Viper007Bond. Unfortunately there's no easy solution for this at the moment. The widgets page will be redesigned in 2.8.
