Description
I don’t know if this orange for “Pending” is final or just a placeholder, but its contrast against white and off-white is bad (and much below the thresholds suggested by W3C).
I cannot find an orange that provides good contrast AND is sufficiently different from red, so I’m submitting a brown for consideration, at least as a temporary fix, to spare the eyes of poor beta testers. :-)

-10 to brown.
I agree the orange can be difficult to see but brown does not give the correct visual indication.

I think the red/orange/green colors are placeholders until exact shades are picked.

I'm checking with Andy to see if he can get us a darker gold/orange to provide more contrast while maintaining the go/slow/stop metaphor.

Here's more of a gold/orange version. I've actually toned down the green and red a bit so they all fit together better. What do you think?

Let's use Andy's revised colors. The gold could still use more contrast, I know, but it's only used in 2 places, and we can revisit in 2.8 when we start incorporating other color cues in admin.

The orange is better now, but the red is too dark and it does not represent well the obnoxiousness of spam. :-)
Orange against a light background is a difficult problem...
