css bugs with background colors in admin area

Description

The new post button/drop down to the top right of the screen, and the widget sidebars don't look very clean in Camino, and presumably in other browsers (FF?). Works fine in Safari.

playing around reveals it's related to the background image, so it might not be fixable.

Same cause as in #9889, old rendering engine.
