Description
Hi,
It transpires that the permalink structure that was recommended to me on a WP Forum is not apparently an option !
I want my permalinks settings to be /%post_id%/%postname%/
However, as I construct the site, I now notice that this format only affects my Posts urls, but not my Pages.
I asked a ‘geek’ on StudioPress…
“How do I get Pages to respond to my desired permalink structure?
I can only get Pages to appear something like mysite.com/24pink-custard
rather than mysite.com/24/pink-custard.”
He replied: “It cannot be done. This is a WP core issue. If you would like to bring it up with them I recommend submitting a trac ticket.”
Back to square one?! Or is the compromise page url good enough to avoid the WP functionality problems resulting from /%postname%/
or /%category%/%postname%/ urls?
Thanks,
B
This is as expected, The permalink option only affects Posts, as it's a Post Permalink field.
You can use a plugin to change page, taxonomy and custom post type permalinks, Whilst I've not tested it, This is one such plugin which claims to do it: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-permalinks/
Closing as Wontfix due to this being plugin material.
