#25684 closed defect (bug) (invalid)

CPT as a submenu item blocks post-new.php for that post type

Description

Haven't investigated to see why it's happening but the post type has custom permissions. However, when it uses the default top-level menu, everything works as expected.

Sorry you haven't gotten a reply yet. Could you possibly provide the code you're using that triggers this?

I don't quite remember exactly what I was trying to do - but I'm pretty sure I simply used the show_in_menu arg of register_post_type to add a custom post type as a submenu item of a previously created custom post type.

Well, unfortunately, with just that I can't quite reproduce the issue, and am not quite sure what exactly "blocking" meant originally (I assume saying something about permissions). Closing for now; feel free to reopen with steps to reproduce if you come across it again.
