Description

Current welcome screen for WordPress 5.0 states "Trust that your editor looks like your website" which is not true for many themes without Gutenberg support and editor styles. This should be removed or reworded.

Same here. I actually wanted to write almost same content in my ticket. I have over 200 instances of wordpress which need fixing because some idiot added gutenberg editor. Everything is secure and works fine, but editor and i have no option to modify/update. Think of forking wp without this editor.

Thank you for the suggestion, @brianhogg.

I understand your point, but I think it's reasonable to read this in the context of the entire about page, where it shows that a theme with proper editor styles added can look basically identical to the content it later produces.

I agree if there are editor styles it's quite close, but for a ton of themes on existing sites that won't be the case so it's misleading.

5.0 was already released anyway so too late now :)
