#7833 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Allow future posts to be published immediately

Description

If a post author sets the post date somewhere in the future, it is now automatically scheduled for publication.

Ideally, one would be able to choose whether to:

  1. schedule the post for later publication
  1. publish the post immediately with a future timestamp

Uses:

  • For publishing posts about upcoming events
  • For fictional blogs that take place in the future

Basically, if I can publish posts with a past date, I'd like to be able to publish them with a future date.
In effect, separate post scheduling from the post date.
