#8928 closed defect (bug) (wontfix)

Say what QuickPress is for

Description

The QuickPress module on the Dashboard needs a tooltip balloon etc. that says it is
"a fast way to create drafts or posts". Else one wonders or must dig through the docs to find out.

P.S., I clicked "Quick 'Edit'" as this bug's Component. You might want to unify the names.

Yeah.. Quick Edit != QuickPress, The Components on trac.. just cant cut it for every feature that WP has.. :) I suggest just setting it to Administration, or UI as I've done it, Since its a UI feature which this is about

I don't see why this can't be inferred from the fields and the dialog. I would hope (for the love of all that is holy) that people would guess that since it has sort of the same fields as the post page, that the fields do in fact have something to do with creating posts.

As it even says, "Save Draft" I would also assume that people would understand the purpose behind it just be looking at it.

There is no cure for the lack of intelligence.

I agree with Jacob. When we tested 2.7, no one had any problem grasping what QuickPress was for, even less-savvy users who only blog every couple of weeks. If someone really can't grasp the idea of entering a title, some text, and saving or publishing, they can try it once or twice and they will figure it out. Experiential learning at its best. :)
