#9494 closed defect (bug) (wontfix)

Quirky Quickedit in Pages / Edit

Reported by: denis-de-bernardy's profile Denis-de-Bernardy Owned by: azaozz's profile azaozz
Milestone: Priority: low
Severity: minor Version: 2.8
Component: JavaScript Keywords: needs-patch
Focuses: Cc:

Description

Create two draft pages: page 1, page 2.

Browse Pages / Edit.

Quick edit page 1. Publish.

Quick edit page 2.

Try to set its parent as page 1. You cannot, in spite of the fact it is published.

Reload Pages / Edit, and quick edit page 2.

You can now set the parent. Set the parent, and publish. The page still shows as a root page, rather than as a child of page 1.

It arguably is an edge case, but it prompts me to ask if the workflow shouldn't be retouched a little.

See #8444 for a bit of information about the quick edit in pages and some of the problems which will also relate to this ticket.

#2 follow-up: @Denis-de-Bernardy

  • Component changed from Administration to JavaScript
  • Keywords needs-patch added
  • Milestone changed from 2.8 to 2.9
  • Owner changed from anonymous to azaozz

Confirming that the parent not shown upon saving no longer applies.

The issue whereby the published Page via QuickEdit isn't available for the others as a parent remains however.

Moving this to 2.9, as it's really too minor.

Replying to Denis-de-Bernardy:

Agreed, it is very minor and very rare too.
