improve automatic links

From a customer:

"In other programs when I type a url and then spacebar, it automatically converts it to a link. Is there a way to have that happen here?"

Plugin material, or should we make this built-in?

side note: if we implement this, we also need to implement: when a url has a link and I hit backspace at the end of it, it removes the link.

+1 for plugin material. IMHO that's one of the most annoying features of text editors when they do stuff like that by default. If autocomplete or autoformat is needed it should be optional.

the backspace use-case might be a good candidate a core material, though.

+1 for plugin for tinyMCE. I must admit that I personally hate that auto-creation of links. Plugin is good, those who need get that.

-1 for backspace: If it is as display issue only then a cutted link still is a valid link.
