Description
Testing was done on the following handsets:
- Chrome on a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini running Android 4.2.2
- Chrome on a Samsung Galaxy Ace II running Android 4.1.2
- Chrome on a HTC sense 5.0 running Android 4.2.2
Demo code: http://jsfiddle.net/385shjqf/
Steps to reproduce:
The following will work:
- Click on Select files and choose an image from your mobile phone's gallery. The image's filename does appear on screen.
- You can now click on Upload files to start the upload
The following fails:
- Click on Select files and take a photo with your phone's camera. The image's filename doesn't appear on screen.
- Click Upload files to see that nothing happens
Notes
- The problem doesn't happen at all when I use Chrome my tablet running Android 4.4.2 or on my desktop.
- I've also had a report from someone using an iPhone 5 that the problem doesn't happen for them.
- I asked an Android 4.4.2 user to test and they couldn't reproduce the problem.
So it seems as though there's a problem with uploading directly from a mobile device's camera but only phones running a pre 4.4.2 version of Android are affected.
I already created an issue over at Plupload's GitHub repo but considering the library is in core, I thought it was worth reporting here too.
