WordPress Multisite Author bio

When changing your bio in one of the sites in a multi site setup, it get's changed everywhere. You should be able to overwrite your bio for a certain subsite.

When using WP multi site to serve different languages you need to be able to change your bio per subsite, even if it's the same author. We use our multi site setup like this:

website.com/pt
website.com/es
website.com/it

but when I change my bio in Portuguese in the /pt it overwrites my bio in my main profile. This doesn't allow me to show my bio in the appropriate language. We didn't use a Multi Language plugin because the content in those blogs is country related, so a translation plugin wouldn't do the trick.

Thanks for your report and welcome to trac!

Having a central user database is actually one of the main features of multisite. Therefore your proposed feature sounds like something a plugin should be covering. In fact, there's even a plugin for that! Check out ​Individual Multisite Author here in the repository.

I would also recommend using the plugin @swisspidy mentioned. It's very well written, nothing more inside that you need for such a feature. I use it on a multisite network where I have multilingual site as well as some single language blogs/websites in the same network.
