Description

I'm currently one of Parsi Date core developers. Parsi Date, enables Shamsi calendar, aka Iranian calendar, for WordPress.

WordPress is really popular in Iran, many people use it as an accelerator in their own business, so I thought that enabling Iranian calendar, might be a good idea to step the progress of internationalizing WordPress.

Can it be enabled in WordPress? Where to start?

  • Focuses performance added

If it goes to core, It can affect on WordPress performance(For Persians) because there isn't any reason to enable plugins for this.
Also, Shamsi date for jQuery UI will be added soon.

In addition, Shamsi calendar uses in Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan too.

Thanks in advanced

There are certainly parts of this plugin that should be considered for core.

I'm going to look at various i18n fixes for 4.7.

@johnbillion

There are new features and changes for new version of our plugin in our next versions. Such as Improve calendar and main class, archive widget and Persian jQuery UI calendar.

How we can commit or add these if some parts of plugin goes to core?

Can we(Main developers of the plugin) commit these to core? Or we must send the changes to you?

Thanks

Hello,

Is there any plan from WordPress developers to add Hijri date and calendar to WordPress core? Because this ticket has been open for over 9 years and has not made any progress why?

Is there any plan

There is this ticket, as long as it stays open, though that is not exactly a plan. The ticket needs a patch to move forward.
