4.9.6 update doesn't seem to work

Description

Hi,
I had 4.9.5.
I updated to 4.9.6
Although i always chose the WordPress 4.9.6–en_GB version, this time i chose the 4.9.6-en_US version.
What is going wrong and what to do now, because activating GB, it says : update already in progress (going for an hour (?!) now)...........

When you upgrade, an entry for "core.updater.lock" is added to your options table in the database. After the upgrade it is removed. If the upgrade failed, this record will still be intact.
