IE 11 crashes

Description
IE 11 crashes when selecting some text in the Visual Editor (not in the Classic Editor) or clicking on the Bold or italic button. The WP version used is 5.0.3.
Note that all Add-ons have been disabled and history, cache, etc. deleted and browser restarted.
Error is
"SCRIPT65535: Unexpected call to method or property access." post.php and on
wp-tinymce.php : unexpected call to property or method "e.nodeValue=t}"
Theme used: GeneratePressVersion: 2.2.1 (updated)

I can reproduce the crash with IE 11 by using the theme GeneratePressVersion (ver. 2.1..1) under WP 5.0.3.
If I switch to another theme everything works.

Thanks for your feedback @fp7508. I'm afraid you should ask the GeneratePress support, as this appears to be responsibility of the theme.
@fp7508 thanks for your report and welcome to Trac. I've tested on Windows 10, IE 11, both the Classic Editor > Visual and the Block Editor (Gutenberg) and wasn't able to reproduce.
I see GeneratePress supports advanced layouts, and I'm guessing the crash you're experiencing depends on the theme. Does it still happen with a default theme (for example Twenty Nineteen or Twenty Seventeen) activated?
