Description
I'm missing a few metaboxes that aren't inside Gutenberg (document), such as Send trackbacks, Post Author, Post Slug, Comments, Custom Fields and Revisions.
I can understand post formats (they can be converted to blocks) but I hope these other metaboxes will hopefully be implemented inside Gutenberg as well.

Exactly where can I find these (previously metaboxes) inside the document sidebar and where did the "screen options" went inside WP5? I attached an image of how my screen looks like.

Hi @mireillesan! Hopefully this clears some of your questions up.
- Post Author: This field only shows if there is more than one user on the site that has the ability to write content. Otherwise, it is hidden. (see screenshot)
- Post Slug: This field shows in the sidebar, but is only editable if the permalink structure is not the default option (
https://site.com?p=1
). (see screenshot) - Comments: I attached a screenshot showing how to navigate to the Options overlay that will allow you to turn on and off the discussion options. I noticed in your screenshot that this was visible at the bottom. Whether these options are visisble also depends on the site's discussion settings.
- Custom Fields: Same as Comments, this section is not useful to a majority of users so it's hidden by default and needs to be enabled.
- Revisions: Same as Post Author, this will only show when there are revisions.
- Trackbacks: Same as Comments.
I am going to close this ticket out because the nature of the request was support. If you are still experiencing pains transitioning to the block editor, the Classic Editor plugin is available. If you wish to stick with the block editor (which I encourage you to do!), please open tickets in the WordPress.org support forums.
If there are specific recommendations for changes that you would like to make, these should be submitted to the Gutenberg GitHub repository, as changes to the block editor must be made there before getting committed to WordPress Core for release.
Post Author: Can be changed in the document sidebar
Post Slug: Can be changed in the document sidebar or by clicking on the title
Comments (Discussion): Can be activated via screen options (click on the three dots in the top right corner -> Options)
Custom Fields: Can be activated via screen options
Revisions: Available in the document sidebar
Trackbacks: Intentionally not implemented as pingbacks should be used if anything. Trackbacks aren't really used widely as a standalone feature
It doesn't make much sense to add separate meta boxes for things that are already available through some other way. Having multiple routes for achieving the same task is an UX anti-pattern.
