Matrix Created using TeX does not Display Correctlyx

Description

Inputting the TeX in a Text Block creates a Matrix that doesn't display correctly.

$latex \displaystyle M=\left[ {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 \\ 5 & 6 & 7 & 8 \\ 9 & {10} & {11} & {12} \\ {13} & {14} & {15} & {16} \end{array}} \right]\frac{{-b\pm \sqrt{{{{b}^{2}}-4ac}}}}{{2a}}$

If the same code is input in the Classic Block it works as expected:

This occurred on a new WordPress website (free) with no additional plugins however I think it is Jetpack that is used to display the formulas. There is a setting on it called "beautiful maths".
