Description

This issue was brought up in the support forums - https://wordpress.org/support/topic/finding-documentation-for-mark-as-spam-button/.

I was also not able to find and clear documentation around what marking a user as spam actually means.

Thanks for the report!

Just noting there is some documentation for the "Mark as Spam" action on the Help tab:

The bulk action will permanently delete selected users, or mark/unmark those selected as spam. Spam users will have posts removed and will be unable to sign up again with the same email addresses.

Should this be clarified further?

Hi Sergey,

I think that information is enough for the purpose of documentation.

My original message:
"I was wondering what else this status does besides the fact the user rows are colored yellow.
I found some things regarding Askimset learning based on those users marked as spam, but I am not yet certain what it learns."

I found some threads on forums talking about "Training Akismet" when marking spam, to improve it's data set or something similar. That was for comments. I was curious if that one is also for users, but I think that's out of scope

Thanks for looking into this!

Can you close it? I'm not yet used to WP Trac :)
